Six More

I am down to six more radiation treatments. It is going to be really tough the next few weeks as I end the treatment and the effects slowly continue and begin their slow fading. I am relieved to know that the firs stage is almost over. I know it may sound strange, but I am ready for surgery. After the past few days I am convinced that a bag is going to bring relief to me and my bowels. I plan on doing research on ostomies and their maintenance. I may see if they will let me talk with one of the nurses early and get a good understanding of what I am going to have to do on a regular basis.

The skipped treatment was really nice. Even though I was unable to attend the shower with Kimberly, I spent a weekend free of nausea and chills. I actually was able to spend a little time in the kitchen. I made some peanut butter cookies and some banana muffins. My sweet tooth has been really nagging at me lately. Kimberly also came home with some left over cake from the shower. And to think....I lost 5 oz. at my last weigh-in. Go figure?

Well, I hope everyone else is doing alright out there. Don't forget it is breast cancer awareness month. Early detection can save lives! Be sure and start a conversation with your doctor if you have not already.

Kim and Jason,
I am Kathy (Cross) Wimberly's mom, and I just wanted you to know that you are both constantly in our prayers. Keep the faith, and know that God does have a plan and will always be there for you. (Jeremiah 29:11)
