Despite my pain from the radiation treatments, I was pleasantly surprised to find out that this week I was not scheduled for infusion treatment. That means no sickness!!! Hell Yeah! I was a little perturbed that I arranged a ride down there (expecting to get sick) and a ride home. I arrived at the clinic and went and did my radiation, then headed over to get my lab work done prior to infusion. They said they did not have any orders for lab work. I headed over to the infusion office and they pulled my chart and noted that I was not scheduled this week. So, other than a little confusion and aggravation I am very excited.
Kimberly is headed to Atlanta/Athens this weekend for Savannah and David's wedding shower. She is the co-maid of honor and is hosting the party with some of Savannah's other friends. I was supposed to go, but I am not sure I can handle the long car ride. Plus, I am pretty much a slave to the bathroom these days, with the radiation side effects and all. So, everyone please wish Kimberly safe travels and hope that they have a great time at the shower.
Also, it looks like everything is a go with the benefit concert. I am really grateful to everyone who worked hard on that. I will post some more about that specifically in the future.
Peace

Sunburned Ass
Hey everyone! Hope everybody is doing okay. It is really amazing how this blog has reached various folks. I think it is a fantastic way for me to keep up on how I am feeling and give people an idea of my progress. I have received very positive feedback, not just from comments, but from letters and cards as well.
As you can probably tell just by my entry, I am doing better than I was on the last post. Like I said before, the weekends are rough with Monday usually being the day that I shake loose from that chemo crud. The fatigue does not go away, however. Although I try to put it into words, there really is no describing how it feels.
Despite my positive attitude, I am in alot of pain. I have been having more pain than usual going to the bathroom. (BTW...This is going to be another one of those moments were I am warning you before you read ahead.) It really hurts more than it has been and I was a little worried. I went to the radiology clinic this morning and the doctor said that it was a side effect from the radiation treatment. In his words, my entire rectum has a really bad sunburn from the radiation. He said there is not much to do about it, and that, unfortunately, it will get worse before it will get better. So the medication side effect of diarrhea and the radiation side effect of a burned rectum do not add up for any amount of comfort for me.
I am not sure if it is a sign of the treatment working, but my bowels have been blood free for about three days now. Maybe the tumor is getting it's ass kicked as much as the rest of my body. Eat shit tumor!!! Literally. Ha Ha!
Peace
