March is Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month

Hello Everyone!

You all are probably well aware of my fight over the past few years with rectal cancer. I am doing better and actually just finished my first calendar year without any chemotherapy! March is colorectal cancer awareness month, and the time has arrived again to send a message to our representatives that we would like to make legislation regarding screening, prevention, and treatment of colorectal cancer a priority. Please visit the links below to find out how you can get involved. There are a number of ways:

1. You can participate in the Call-On-Congress event. This event is super easy and all you have to do is register and you will receive and e-mail explaining what you will do to participate. You will simply call one number on March 2nd and then will be connected to your congressperson's and senators' offices. It should take no more than 10 minutes of your day. Having many people call a representative's office sends a loud message and I promise they are paying attention! More information about this and the registration can be found at:

Congressional Butt-In

2. You can sign up for virtual lobby day and even participate in a web-based training about how you can have your voice heard. This information can be found at:

Virtual Lobby Day

3. You can also take it upon yourself to support local initiatives to expand screening, prevention, and treatment of colorectal cancer. Consider contacting your local representatives in state or local government to promote fighting colorectal cancer.

4. Consider talking to your doctor about your risk for colorectal cancer and schedule a test to screen for the disease if necessary.

Thank you all in advance for your support and participation in this event which is so very important to me.

Peace,
Josh
