Blood Clot

Josh is back at his home away from home... UAB Hospital. He'd been having pain in his neck around the port area for about 4 days. It got worse and was red and swollen also this morning, so he called the oncall dr. who told him to go to the ER because it could be an infection or blood clot at the port site. Turns out it's the latter. So they admitted him to the hospital and started him on blood thinners. They want to try to leave the port in if possible because he still has to do more chemo after surgery, but if the blood thinners don't do the trick they'll remove the port. He'll be in the hospital at least over the weekend. Keep us in your prayers--

Surgery Update

Hello everybody. Thought I would post a minor update to all who are following. I spoke with my thoracic surgeon today and he will be out of town on the 17th. That is the day after we had tentatively scheduled my surgery. He stated that he would prefer to push it back a week so that he would be around the day after the surgery in case there were complications. I concurred with him about that and so now we are looking to do it on the 23rd. I still have my bronchoscopy on the 9th which will give them some planning about what we will be looking at in the surgery.

Hope everyone is alright and having a good summer!

Peace,
Josh
