Hello everyone, it's been a while, huh? We're doing well, just had a very fun week involving Mardi Gras and Josh's birthday. We went to Mobile last Tuesday for the LaShe Ball as guests of Queen Marilyn, who is Josh's best friend Wade's stepmother. For those of you who aren't familiar with Mardi Gras associations, it's a very big deal to be the Queen. It was really cold that night (for Mobile). We had VIP tickets to the tableau and the ball and had a wonderful time. Wade and Mary's kids, Westbrook and Llandis, had a part in the tableau and got to ride in a chariot. They did amazingly well. Here are a few pictures from that night:

The day after the ball, we met Savannah, David, and Ellis at La Pizzeria for lunch. Ellis is getting so big!
Then Thursday, we went to Atlanta with Steve, Ivy, and Albert to see Them Crooked Vultures at the Tabernacle. It was an awesome show!! They are a relatively new band consisting of Dave Grohl, John Paul Jones, and Josh Homme. John Paul Jones did an amazing keyboard solo. Unfortunately we didn't take any pictures. We stayed at the Glenn Hotel which is 2 blocks from the CNN Center and a nice place to stay. After the show, we went out (on foot, in the freezing cold) to celebrate Josh's birthday. Then we drove home in the great Southern blizzard Friday.
On the medical front, Josh finished up chemo (hopefully forever) on 12/28/09. Unfortunately, his sinuses STILL aren't healed from the sinus surgery in October, so he's having a second sinus surgery 2/24/10. They are going to remove some tissue from his septum to allow the sinuses to heal better (somehow). It shouldn't be too major, hopefully he won't have to spend the night in the hospital.
Our next big adventure will be going to DC 3/14/10-3/18/10 for the Colorectal Cancer Coalition's Call on Congress. This is the same thing that Josh went to last year when his lung collapsed on the plane and we found out about the lung metastasis. I decided to join him this year. I'm really looking forward to it as I haven't been back to DC since we were there 6 years ago doing our internships and falling in love. We'll be staying with Clare and Keith so I'm very much looking forward to seeing them as well.
Happy Valentine's Day!!!
Peace,
Kimberly
