I should start this week with giving thanks to all that I am blessed with. Let me tell you, it is definitely a blessing to be able to lift a turkey this year. I am also grateful for the many people who have helped me through this past year. I am thankful for my doctors, nurses, and health care workers who continue to show me that they are invested in my health. I am thankful to everyone who continues to show me support with their acts of kindness, thoughts, and prayers. I am thankful for my family; especially Kimberly, who continues on this journey of life with me. Most importantly, I am thankful for Christ's love and compassion for me shown in these many blessings.
As winter approaches and temperatures drop I am reminded of my dreadful experience of cold that I went through with the chemotherapy. There is no way to describe how cold I felt even when I was in warm conditions, much less confronted with winter temperatures. I still have difficulties with cold temperatures but it seems to be getting better. I guess one big difference is I no longer have my "padding" to keep me warm...ha ha. I have noticed that my neuropathy returns in the cold weather. It is not real bad, but the tingling feeling in my extremities followed by numbness is present.
Anyway, I hope that everyone out there has a great holiday. I hope that this message finds you in good spirits. I am certain that there are many things in your life for which you are thankful. Share your thanks with those who are close to you as you share food this holiday.
Happy Thanksgiving,
Josh
