Snow Fell On Alabama
Well, here is a sight for you. I am sure there are many kids having a great time in Alabama today! Here are some pictures of the snow and a couple of videos. It looks like if it continues through the morning that it might stick to the ground for some snowballs.

Pain, Pain...Go Away!
Well, I am still dealing with the issue of pain. I believe I am going to have to have a long talk with my doctor about it. I am still hoping that things improve over the next couple of weeks, but I am starting to think that maybe this will be with me for awhile. I hope not forever, but I need to start preparing cognitively for this to possibly be a long-term side effect. I would think that my body would get used to its new body part, but maybe the fact that it is not "what God gave me" is the reason that it is painful. I am trying to continue with my recovery, but relying on pain medicine to get through the day makes it hard to stay focused.
On another note of anxiety, we received a letter from one of my insurance companies informing us that they have requested my medical records to determine eligibility of benefits. For those of you who do not know, Kimberly and I decided (despite the enormous cost) to add me to her insurance (BCBS) at work starting October 1, 2007. My student insurance is still the primary, with the BCBS being my secondary insurance. Everything seemed to be working out pretty good. We would receive bills where my student insurance picked up their potion (80%) and BCBS covered some of the remaining 20%, with the remainder being our responsibility. Well it seems that BCBS would like to see my records from January 1, 2007 to October 1, 2007 (a period of time when I was not under their coverage). I hate to speculate, but it seems that they might be looking for a reason to deny my coverage. I know I am cynical about health insurance companies, but I can think of no other reason. We thought we covered all our bases when we applied. We researched the information regarding previous conditions and were pretty certain that BCBS would have to cover me because I had "credible coverage" prior to open enrollment. The only catch being that it seems BCBS can deem what is "credible coverage." Anyway, we will see what happens. Maybe it is routine, but I am not holding my breath. I am expecting a letter within the next three months telling me I am not eligible for cancer treatment coverage until October 1, 2008.
On a good note, I have started a little work on my bibliography again. It has been about a month since I have done any work related to school. I am not able to get much done, but doing a little each day makes me feel productive. The problem (also why I do not update the blog that frequently) is that it is very painful to sit. I spend most of my days pacing the house, sitting for short periods, kneeling at times, etc. So, I rarely find myself sitting behind the computer typing.
Anyway, I hope everyone is doing alright. Kimberly's parents are visiting this weekend for a short visit and we are both looking forward to their company. Hope to talk with you all soon!
