Cheaha

Some old friends and I traveled to Cheaha State Park outside Anniston. We decided to trek up there with some music equipment and hope to not get kicked out. We were in a rented chalet the park has and it seemed to work out well. The weather was not the best for folks looking to make use of the park on Saturday....wet, rainy, and foggy. So, loud music was not a problem. Plus, there appeared to be a large amount of bikers up there for a get-together. I am pretty sure that there is some biker "code of ethics" that would be violated were one to complain about noise. Everything went well...there were no complaints, no uncontrollable fires, no damaged property, or emergency room visits. Getting old, huh.

Although we did not take in the many attractions available at the park, there did seem to be some interesting things to do there in the future. It was very secluded and represents the highest point in Alabama. The drive in was pretty scenic as well.

I must say that playing music lifted me up a little. Chemo can bring you down and make you feel like shit. Even though I was dealing with the side effects of the medicine, the combo of playing music and visiting with old friends was uplifting to say the least.

Peace
Josh
