Bad News

Well, my cancer is back in my lungs. I completed the brochoscopy this morning and the initial biopsy results are positive. I will hear from my medical oncologist soon and hopefully see him next week. We will discuss treatment options and move forward with some course of action.

On the bright side, they were able to re-inflate my left lung so I am no longer in pain when I breath.

Please keep me and Kimberly in your thoughts and prayers as we face more difficult decisions.

Peace,
Josh

My dear friends,
Last evening, I reflected upon those Spring days in D.C. where I watched your young love bud among the cherry trees. I know that love has blossomed, and it will carry you in the days ahead.

Since that time, I've been distant while fostering my own health. Know I watched from afar as you navigated your campaign with such phenomenal grace. I kept you in mind and heart.

My admiration for you developed during our time in D.C., and it continues to grow as I watch you live your lives with grace and purpose. Josh, my elder by a sole year, I've wanted to tell you I look up to you: professionally, personally, and spiritually. I welcome the opportunity to share some time with you when you're ready. Kimberly, you may have forgotten a dinner proposal a year or so ago, but I have not. We must schedule this at some point. I'll bring banana pudding.

I'm here. Let me know what you need.
I love you.

Peace,
Christopher Uptain

So many things in life seem unfair. You both fought such a courageous battle the first time you dealt with cancer. I know you are strong and I know you can deal with this. Keep you chin up. My Love and Prayers, Bert
