Vulcan

Josh and I went to Vulcan park Friday night for the first time in the 3 years we've lived in Bham. For those of you who aren't familiar with Vulcan, he is the second largest iron statue in the country and he stands on Red Mountain in downtown, on top of a high tower. You can ride the elevator up to an observation deck that is right under him. I'm not sure how high up it is... but pretty high! We were going to take a picture of us to give to people but it didn't turn out so well...

...because it's so windy up there, the rail was so high (not that I'm complaining), and we were both kind of freaking out because the floor of the observation deck is made of metal mesh and you can see through it hundreds of feet to the ground! I did get some shots of the view from up there though:

Including the up close and personal view of Vulcan's hiney, as you can see. We did get a better shot down on the ground which we printed out to give to folks:

So Merry Christmas everybody! Josh is on his way down to Mobile now and I will head down there Wednesday. Enjoy your holidays.
Peace,
Kimberly
