Hello everyone!
Just wanted to wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving this week. I hope you find time to remember all that you have to be thankful for. God has certainly blessed me with his grace, but yet I tend to overlook many of those wonderful gifts at times. This time of year gives me an opportunity to really reflect on all the things that sustain my life and give me joy.
On the health front, I am still recuperating from the sinus surgery. The doctor said that this procedure takes awhile to heal from and that it will take me a bit longer given that I am on immuno-suppressants. I have pretty much been visiting the ENT every week still to have them clean out the stuff. It has grown increasingly painful as the area continues to heal. Seriously, you would not believe what comes out of there. I never had any idea our sinuses were that large. Anyway, the pain I get generally is toothaches and headaches. They are not incapacitating but it is like a dull aching pain for a long time. The pain from the procedures is them digging around in there and hitting all those nerves that are in there...the same ones your dentists hits every once and awhile. Not to mention you have to remain really still when your first instinct is to jerk when you get that jolt of sharp pain. Usually I am holding my co-payment receipt in my hand from when I paid at check-in and by the time I leave the office it is balled and crumpled all up from me squeezing all life out of it.
Anyway, upward an onward! I look forward to seeing some friends and family this week and getting a good meal or two in. Then it is back to chemo Monday and starting it all over again....sigh! I am so looking forward to a chemo vacation.
Peace,
Josh
